Summer Job Fair to be Held Saturday, May 5

As the Double JJ Resort begins to gear up for the summer season, the resort will be increasing the number of employees to over 400, hiring roughly 200 new staff members. To prepare for the large number of summer visitors, hiring for all areas of the resort will take place at the upcoming Job Fair. Positions to be filled include wranglers, front desk, housekeeping, restaurant/bars, maintenance, activities, and lifeguards. The Double JJ Resort is proud to continue to be able to draw from the workforce right here in West Michigan.

To make the hiring process more streamlined, the Double JJ Resort will be holding a job fair on Saturday, May 5. From 10am-3pm, we invite applicants to visit the Double JJ for an opportunity to submit their resumes and participate in an on-the-spot interview for their department of choice. The job fair will take place at the Back Forty Ranch inside of the Dance Hall.

To ensure speedy processing of applicants, we ask that individuals bring their resumes and applications to the above date as opposed to sending them to the resort early. Applications may be downloaded at the Double JJ website and filled out in advance.

Hop into Easter with a Buffet & Egg Hunt at the Double JJ Resort

Get ready to celebrate Easter this Sunday at the Double JJ Resort! Head out to the Sundance Steakhouse for a gourmet buffet featuring leg of lamb, ham, ribeye roast, a salad bar, appetizers a sundae bar, and much more. With three available seating times, it's sure to fit into your weekend schedule. Prices are $19.95 for adults, $15.95 for seniors, $9.95 for kids ages 4-11, and free for kids ages 3 & under. Each buffet time will be followed by an Easter Egg hunt! Bring the kids & let them experience all the fun of hunting for eggs once they’ve had their fill at the buffet. The egg hunts will take place outdoors near the Sundance restaurant, with a hunt for the little kids (ages 7 & under) followed by another hunt for kids ages 8 & up at each time. Egg hunts will kick off at 1:30pm, 3:30pm, & 5:30pm.

Hit the Greens this St. Patrick's Day at the Thoroughbred Golf Club!

Build Your Own Bobsled Returns to the Double JJ on March 2!

Get ready for an evening of high-speed, creative cardboard sleds at Build Your Own Bobsled! 101.7 WMRR's fifth annual cardboard & duct tape bobsled race returns to the Double JJ Resort on Friday, March 2. With a kids category for those ages 17 & under and an adult race for those 18 & up, everyone will be able to participate!

Entry into the race is free! Just download an application from DoubleJJ.com or Rock1017fm.com, and show up at the Double JJ Resort with your bobsled on March 2. The 17 & under race will kick off at 6pm, followed by the adult division at 8pm. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest sled, as well as the most creative.

Happy 175th Birthday to Michigan!

Today the great state of Michigan celebrates its 175th Birthday! The Double JJ is proud to have been part of Michigan for the past 75 years. To celebrate, we've discovered a few fun facts about Michigan, thanks to the folks at the Michigan Humanities Council:

• Detroit was the first capital of Michigan, not Lansing
• Michigan has more lighthouses than any other U.S. state
• The first soda pop manufactured in the U.S., Vernor's ginger ale, was created by accident in 1866 in Detroit
• Michigan is the largest state producer of cherries
• Steven T. Mason became governor of Michigan in 1834 (then a territory) at the age of 22, and to this day remains the youngest state governor in American history
• Sault Ste. Marie, founded by Fr. Jacques Marquette in 1668, is the third oldest remaining settlement in the U.S.
• Michigan is the only place in the world with a floating post office - the J.W. Westcott II is the only boat in the world that delivers mail to ships while they are still underway

Salute the Old West Buffet at Sundance Steakhouse

Saturday nights the Sundance Steakhouse at Double JJ Resort will be transformed into the "Salute the Old West Buffet." This upscale dining experience will include grilled-to-order steaks, sides, & desserts. Bring the whole family along & indulge in some of the Double JJ's most popular dishes, all while enjoying the beautiful vistas from the Sundance Dining Room.

Running from 5pm-10pm on Saturday nights, the "Salute the Old West Buffet" is sure to please even the hungriest of cowpokes. Pricing is $7 for kids and $13 for adults, with the option of adding on a steak or seafood for an additional cost.

With 2011 about to come to a close, we're all excited for 2012 to begin! At the Double JJ Resort, we'll be welcoming the new year in style all night long. Starting at 6:30pm on New Year's Eve, the Resort will switch into full-on party mode!
Even though Mother Nature hasn't graced us with cold enough weather for the tubing hill to be open, there's so much fun going on that you won't even miss it! All-night fun will include unlimited access to the Gold Rush Waterpark, a Pizza, Breadstick, & Dessert Buffet, Arts & Crafts, Mechanical Bull Riding, the Wooden Nickel Arcade, and Outdoor Laser Tag! You can also head outside to take a free Pony Ride, visit some Petting Farm animals, or take the chance to meet some of our Sled Dogs!
Even more fun activities will take place throughout the night, including face painting, balloon animals, bingo, pie eating contests, karaoke, cookie decorating, & more!
The highlights of the night will be the Beach Ball drops in the Gold Rush Waterpark, and the Balloon Drop in the Lobby area. Both of these will happen with the countdown at 10pm for the little ones, and at Midnight to welcome 2012!
